  • Key Characteristics

Flame Resistance: Inherently flame-resistant and self-extinguishing; it will not melt or support combustion and can withstand temperatures exceeding 900°F (482°C) before decomposing.

Extreme Thermal Range: Operates continuously from -100°F to 575°F (-73°C to 302°C). It maintains integrity at cryogenic temperatures as low as -320°F without becoming brittle.

Superior Strength-to-Weight: Offers 5 times the strength of steel at the same weight with a typical tensile strength of 300 lbs/inch.

Breathability and Flexibility: The open-mesh architecture (typically 1/16" to 1/4" openings) allows maximum airflow, making it lighter and more conformable to complex shapes than solid Kevlar fabrics.

Durability: Highly resistant to cuts, punctures, and abrasion, while maintaining dimensional stability with low elongation (typically <3.5%) under load.

Chemical & UV Resistance: Resistant to most organic solvents and oils, though sensitive to strong acids and bases. While Kevlar is naturally UV-sensitive, many mesh fabrics use specialized coatings to exceed the UV resistance of fiberglass.

    Applications

Industrial Safety: Cut-resistant and breathable gloves, FR aprons for welders, and high-heat protective clothing.

Food Processing: PTFE-coated mesh conveyor belts for commercial ovens (bakery, meat smoking) due to non-stick properties and FDA/USDA compliance.

Manufacturing: Industrial drying and curing belts for heavy-duty steam or high-humidity environments.

Aerospace & Marine: Lightweight reinforcement for composite panels, aircraft secondary structures, and boat hull reinforcement.

Sports & Outdoors: Abrasion-resistant ventilation panels in motorcycle gear, high-wear reinforcements for backpacks, and climbing gear.

Military & Defense: Body armor components, tactical vests, and explosion-proof tank liners.

Electronics: Electromagnetic shielding, anti-static cloths, and reinforcement for fiber optic cables.
